Summertime and the livin' is....
Yes, we are in the midst of summertime in Southern Louisiana. Hot as Hades and begging for constant thanks to the air conditioning god. However, my peach iced tea is, well, iced, and the a/c blows beautifully. I'm a happy camper.
June went out with a horror, when on the 28th, my brother Eric had a massive stroke. There is no full recovery, but bless him, he's working hard to regain some semblance of the life he had.
Two weeks from today, my honey and I will take off for New York, where we'll attend my uncle's 80th birthday party and see Eric and his wife, Debbie. I hope to see friends and other family while we're there. It's been five years since our last visit.
I just self-published three of my books, the former Serenity's Dream, now Sapphire Club volume one - Lucien Damrill and Serenity Malin; the former The Rogue's Salvation, now In His Eyes; and Demands of the Heart, which retained its title. They are available in print and ebook on Amazon. I'll get the others up as time allows.
I spent four hours on the phone with a good friend the other day, who helped me tremendously with plotting for my novella, yet unnamed, which is the prelude to Tarnished Soul, the second in the Tarnished series. The problem I've had was that the story from the novella will carry over into TS, and I needed some expert help in making sure I was on the right track. I've got it now. :)
Fingers crossed, I'll have the novella completed by October and available for GayRomLit in Atlanta. I hope so. I'm working hard on it. Then I can start working on Tarnished Soul, which I anticipate will see daylight by next spring. Again fingers crossed. These things take time and tons of research.
I'm feeling mellow these days. Happy with my place in the world and the things that are happening, or most things.
Off for a haircut today and then, hopefully, some writing. Hope you have a great one.
Hugs,
Brita
