And that will never change. Even if I have to try with my last breath, I’m going to make things better for you.”

Having Sophia by his side helped him deal with his anguish, but it wasn’t enough, not when he hears the screams of his mother every time he goes to sleep.
Known as “Trouble, he fulfills that nickname in every sense of the word. With tattoos covering his arms and chest, an attitude to match the bad boy reputation, and the bar fights and random women he takes home, Abe doesn’t bother correcting them on how they see him. The only person he can rely on in life is Sophia, especially after his parents died. He has let his pain consume him to the point that his drinking leads to bar fights and taking home random women. The distraction helps to ease some of his anguish, but it is empty relief.

“One day all of this isn’t going to matter, Sophie girl.” His hand tightened on hers and she moved closer, resting her head on his shoulder. “The shitty thing that happened to you, the asshats that think they can mess with you, everything, Soph.” She knew he was right. “I’m always going to look out for you, Kidd, always.”

Quiet and shy, Sophia likes to keep to herself. Her childhood was anything but happy, but when she met Abe for the first time their connection was instant. He may be the bad boy in their small town, but he is also her best friend. The only problem is she is in love with a man that doesn’t see her as anything but his kid sister. All of that changes when alcohol and intense emotions clash together one night. Now she has to deal with the repercussions of giving herself to the only man she has every loved.



“What are you doing, Sophia?” His voice was soft.
She went to move her hand away but his reflexes were fast, even sloshed off his ass. He gripped her wrist in a strong, yet gentle hold. “Abe.” She had no idea how to respond, didn’t know how to explain why she was touching him. It might have seemed innocent enough, but by the look in his eyes and her pounding pulse, it was anything but.
