You may indeed! Building potential followers and getting seen is a lengthy process - I’ve been on here three years, so it does take a while to get known, but the more known and the more seen you get, the more followers you gain in a cumulative process. The best advise I can give is to keep posting often, set your queue so that it is posting things everyday without a break, and tag everything so that its easy to find.
