Fearless Defenders 9

The ninth issue of FEARLESS DEFENDERS has been solicited… and the description of the book does not do justice to the insanity that you will find within these pages. Like issue 8, this will be a stand-alone story featuring a ton of Defenders, a ton of villains (some with a Defenders pedigree), and a ton of guest stars (who, as you might have guessed, are dudes).

Now… just from this solicitation, I’ve heard some backlash… because obviously these few sentences tell you enough to predict the course of human history from this day forward.

But… But… You can’t add male characters to an all-female group!

You’ll ruin what the book is about!

I don’t want male characters to swoop in and save the day!

But, really, folks… It’ll be all right. This series takes place within the main Marvel Universe. There are men in the Marvel Universe, you know? Nobody said they’re taking over the book. Take a deep breath, nerve-calming drugs, a drink, or whatever you need to relax a bit. You’ve got a few weeks before the issue comes out.

What I will tell you about this issue is that it is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever written.
