Wow. XBox One
I normally prefer the Xbox to the Sony consoles, for small reasons.
But WOW, Microsoft has muffed this pre-launch stuff. They have succeeded in making this box ugly, unfriendly, even hostile.
They’ve alienated gamers, females, and even people who would use it mostly for digital non-gaming content. They have gone out of their way, almost, to make it seem like a product you would be a fool to purchase.
Now we see that you can only even PLAY the system in 21 countries at launch. 21 countries? In the year 2013?
This is ignorant on an EPIC scaled.
Microsoft, I have bought every console you have made, I can’t even remember how many Xboxes I have bought for myself and as gifts.
If this doesn’t get fixed, I have bought my last MS console.
Edited to add:
“Yes, almost like what DC did to comic books. Too dark, not a lot of fun. Non user friendly. Yet DC has been in bed with Sony for years, to the exclusion of fans who have an xbox or Wii. which you is saying that , the gamer or the DC shill?”
Jesus Christ, people project nonsense sometimes.
Let me make it clear. I have never preferred the Sony system. Never. The first PS3 I bought, I called the ‘doorstop’ because I simply never used it. I had a ps2 and it immediately began collecting dust. I liked the games better on the 360, the controllers better on the 360, the interface better on the 360.
Even after having had half a dozen Xboxes go red ring (yes, half a dozen, over the years), I still preferred the Xbox. I would STILL rather buy an Xbox, based purely on the feel of the system.
But then they started announcing all this anti-user stuff, and I don’t like it. I find people resort to calling people ‘shills’ when they disagree and can’t make an actual argument.
Good luck with that.
Truthfully, I don’t think Microsoft OR Sony are wonderful companies. But one of these systems seems vastly more user-friendly and that’s why I am leaning in that direction.
Possibly the goofiest conspiracy accusation yet.
And I don’t think I need to defend my gamer cred, but I will say that I currently have hooked up in my house two Xboxes, a Ps3, two 3dses, two Ps Vitas, two PsPs, and a ton of gaming-oriented tablets and other systems. I have a Vectrex on my desk next to my computer. I have bought nearly every system released in the US this decade and several imports. I am gaming at least a bit every single day.
Oh, and I am also working on the writing for two major game franchises, neither of which is affiliated with Warners or Sony.
Reach, much?
