The Legend of the Centaur - Revisited
This posting is about the mythological creature the Centaurs, that appear in all of the Valens of Legacy books to date, Valens Remembered, Valens Rise and Valens Revenge. I will share some of the information I found about the original myth and then some insight into the book’s character. I hope you will share your comments with me about the shape-shifters who guard the world in this contemporary fantasy setting.
The Centaur from the Greek mythology is half human and half horse Usually this creature is depicted as monstrous with behaviors such as eating the flesh of other, and ravaging women. Most of the stories might lead you to believe these savages are male, though there are some stories of female equivalents sometimes known as Centaurides. There is a tale of a single Centaur who did not fit the wild and savage mold, this was Cherion, who was supposed to be the most intelligent man in the world and is the one that the stars are named after.Valens of Legacy gives you a different perspective of these amazing creatures. There are two Centaurs at the forefront of book one, the twins Miranda and Amanda Shaw. Miranda in Rise is in love with Declan but this doesn’t keep her from working hard to protect Jemma when the time comes. The Centaurs are weapons specialist and train other Valens in the use of a wide range of lethal equipment.
Amanda, takes a staring role in Revenge while both ladies are present in the prequel Remembered. There are other Centaurs as well, but they have yet to be introduces and their special skills explored, that will occur in other books. Take a chance, pick up the free Valens Remembered and get to know the character and their individual personalities. Explore their world and let me know what you think.
Thank you for being out there and keeping up with the characters. See you soon
