Buggy Stories???

I was having a discussion with a student about adding realism to a story. Bugs are everywhere. She mentioned a true life story about ticks in tall grass. That reminds me of Eastern Oklahoma and ticks and chiggers in the tall grass.

A fan who had read Legend of the White Wolf visited Maine in the summers and mentioned how bad the horseflies were. It brought back memories of the ones in Florida. And mosquitoes galore. And no-see-ums.
