Updatifications

Finn and Lili makin' out and stuff, in a hot shower... That'll be chapter 2 shaping up nicely, then.

Dangermousie Now, teasing like that is just evil!

message 2: by Tabitha (new)

Tabitha McGowan Well, not *just* evil. I mean, it's a little bit informative as well, isn't it?

Actually, you're right. It's just evil.

Evil but fun.

Clearly, you are a writer, and "evil but fun" describes the situation perfectly!

Tabitha McGowan Yup - to be honest, there's a huge chunk of shade, so there needs to be light, and tenderness, for it to work. That, and there's something rather lovely in writing for them when all is going well (and by 'well' I mean 'with some rather excellent sex'. Just to clarify.)

Shanna This update hurts more than it helps, I'm just saying, now I'm gonna have to be stalking your GR page! Thanks!

lol

Do you need a paper bag? :D

It's a humid summer evening here in north-east England. I've just put the ferrets back in their hutch after a mad half hour in their play-run, two poodlums and a husky-malamute have been walked, and some red wine has been shifted down my neck. All is well, and it's perfect conditions for a little bit of sweetness...

Paper bag is good as if it is a plastic bag, I won't last long enough until Book 2, and that would be a pity (I've seriously started thinking things like "I can't get hit by a bus until Book 2 comes out" - my priorities are a little...skewed, I think).

It's hot and humid here too (Northeast US) but no ferrets or other animals need to be walked, so I am hiding indoors until it's time to pick up my child from school.

Aimie Oh bless ... Love the idea of Finn in a lush warm shower, as oppose to him shivering his arse off on a cold, stone floor. That's my HEA right there.

My offspring is away in the Lake District - back tomorrow, all stinky and knackered, no doubt! I'm thinking of making sure my husband has the full story for the sequel in case said bus also hits me, so I'm with you on the skewed priorities thing!

It's a very lovely thing. I think that's why the whole 'Spain' thing works; I have an idea about him unfurling in the warmth.

Finn and Lili taking a "hot shower" together just warms every part of my heart and soul. You might be evil but you are deliciously so because you are giving your fans such wonderful thoughts and feelings after such a brutal ride.

My only fear is the authoress that can giveth can also taketh away. Please just make it warm and fuzzy at the end.

What a marvellous word 'unfurling' is. I must use that at some point tomorrow.

There's a real journey ahead, but I wouldn't be able to walk away if all was not well with the pair of them; my own relationship reads a little like an unlikely HEA, so I know these things can happen - everyday magic can be a wonderful thing!

Factor 30, absolute minimum. He's a Celt, so he's going to burn like no one's business from April onwards! It's one of those daft details that I think about every time I'm in the sun protection aisle of our local stupidmarket...

Yay! My mother's catchphrase in life is "Eat something, you look hungry, don't be shy" so I highly approve of fattening up by matriarchs...

Oh God, no - Lilith's home is based on a tiny town in Mallorca, even though it's on the mainland in the books. I've also worked in Madrid, so I've grabbed bits of my favourite places from there, too!

Actually, I like the idea of an English Pub in Santa Marita! It's kind of an alternative, accepting place :)

message 29: by Stacey (new)

Stacey Oh Tabitha, I can't believe this book has hit me as hard as a non fiction could. Reading this book, it was as if I was watching it all play out whilst I was high up above. The Tied Man sucked me right in. Laughed, cried, got mad etc, I went through all the emotions. Words really do fail me because I'm speechless. I have never felt this way about a book before. I've read quite a few books over the years but I recommend your book to people that I think will appreciate it. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to put this here on your book link notifications, but I just had to express how thankful I was to you. :-)

Don't apologise - it's lovely to get such positive feedback, no matter where it's posted! It was my hope as a writer that The Tied Man might resonate with someone; thank you for letting me know it did this for you - going off to bed smiling, now :D

message 31: by J (new)

J Stacey:

All of us here owe Tabitha such a huge debt for giving us the beauty of Finn and Lili (even in such pure evil circumstances). I hope she recognizes the power she has over all of us with the depth of love and emotion that TTM brought. She could so easily crush us if she wanted to (but I don't think she will--she loves F & L too).

In my admittedly limited experience, there has never been any other book or any other author that has elicited such a deep (to me, soul deep) reaction from their readers.

Thank you Tabitha (and if you ever want to discuss your HEA I'd love to hear it).

I have absolutely *no* intention of reader-crushing, I assure you! And thank you for your lovely words...

I'm looking forward to discussing the story as I begin to get a real grasp of where it's taking me; although the 'scaffolding' of the plot is there, I find that that really interesting details only reveal themselves once I'm writing them!

Somehow, someway I'm going to use "Reader Crusher" in one of my reviews (not TTM2, of course) describing some poor author that doesn't meet my hopes and dreams.

J Tabitha: Just wanted to let you know my nieces and I watched some movies last night. One of the previews was a movie called Beastly with Alex Pettyfer. I think it was Shannon on Goodreads that first gave me a picture of him. Quite a hunk and he would be more than adequate as Finn in these shower scenes, etc.

Eventually we watched "Warm Bodies" (that Houghton kid could invade my zombie bunker anytime he wanted). But, through most of the movie all I could think about was Alex Pettyfer as Finn and what a Finn and Lili movie would look like.

Oh goodness, my daughter loves 'Beastly' (and so do I!) - Alex Pettyfer is one of the 'Tabitha McGowan Seal of Approval' actors to play Finn, and I think there's some mention of him in the thread about who would play whom! It's a favourite game between me and my best friend.

I think 'adequate' sums things up rather beautifully! xxxx
