The Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit still preserves the pickled appendix (alcohol dried up a long time ago and wasnt replaced) removed from him in 1919 as well as a part of the towel that was left inside after the appendectomy that required a second operation. We did not have malpractice suits in those gentle times. specimen bottles are marked "my appendix" and "the mysterious gauze from my entrails."
