Yes, I Am Diverse - First in the "What About _____" Series

I told my friend, yes, I love music, from classical to country to rock to folk to whatever, and I marvel at it's beauty. But I don't love all music.
Yes, I love nature... this gorgeous, amazing, beautiful Earth, and I thrill at it's splendor. But I don't love every natural phenomena, like people-killing storms, erupting volcanoes, floods and tsunamis.
Yes, I love people, of every race, of every stature, but I don't love all people's actions. And some people, I just don't love... because I'm not fully evolved yet. Yes, I have love and compassion for all children. I love babies, toddlers, the much ignored six to eleven-year-olds, young teens and older teens. Their innocence and innate goodness makes my heart swell. Yet I don't care to have another baby and I’m glad mine are all grown.
Yes, I love and have compassion for all animals. I don’t believe in hunting for sport or bullfighting, or being inhumane in any way. But I don’t believe in animals at the table and have no desire to own a pet and ...da da daaah.. I believe in eating meat.
I see love and God everywhere. I believe in Jesus and HIS teachings. I am deeply spiritual but I am not a member of a religion. I will defend to the death your right to believe, not believe, and/or worship as you choose, as long as your beliefs do not infringe on the rights and freedoms of anyone else.
I believe in freedom, freewill, freedom of choice and that we cannot evolve without it.
I’m writing all this because some people don't understand how I can be such a gentle, loving spirit and say the hard-ass things I sometimes do.
Maybe this will help...
I also believe in being a warrior. Like the heroes in my books, I believe in being so strong that I can "protect the innocent." I believe in plain speaking and have no problem with using colorful language when necessary and that may be because I believe in words... all words, and think it's silly and even arrogant to condemn some words because they offend someone's fine sensibilities. And yet I also believe there is a time and place for them.
I believe in the original goodness, love of freedom and honor of our great country. True grit. Never giving up. I believe in truth, in transparency of government and again... freedom. And I believe that we should never, ever, compromise with evil. Yet, to do that, we must be awake enough to recognize evil. Sadly, some of my friends do not and will not recognize it. And so, rather than worry about them, I find I must simply let go and allow them the freedom to falter... a freedom I will defend.
Yes, I am diverse. I am not conservative, liberal, Republican, Democrat, religious, tolerant or close-minded, and then again, I am ALL those things. For today, this is enough. Coming soon (hopefully,) I will write of more of my inconsistencies.
More to come in the series... let me know which subject you'd like to hear about!
