It's 4:38 am. . .What Are You Doing?

I get up long before sunrise. It's the only time I can devote to writing without interruptions. I'll drop anything for my kids. My job-by-day does have a start and a finish and if I'm not visible there the earth would shudder on its axis. A complete exaggeration on my importance, but--unless I close my door and lock it--from the moment I step on site I am pulled in various directions to the point of near-dismemberment. But I love it, my day job. And I love writing, which is why it's not so hard to rise into the dark shadows of morning and get to it.

Wednesdays are about business and connecting. This morning I chose the cover of ETHAN, my next novel in the California Dreamy Series. I conferred with the design artist. I want something really different this time (Yes, I absolutely DO listen to my readers and one comment in the reviews on Amazon referred to JAKE's cover as soppy. That's not the impression I'm trying to make!). I want an image on ETHAN's cover that reflect's the heroin's strength. And I want a cover that stands out, of course. We're playing with adding color in some places and removing it in others. Also, adding a texture to the cover as well. Then it's onto blogging, a task I enjoy. I don't always know what to say, but I try to reveal a little of myself because I like to know a thing or two about the writers I read. I also hope I post a comment or two, or relate an experience others might connect to, that helps someone--even if all it does is make you smile--I love the feeling a smile creates.

So, here's a quick peek at the stock image I'll be using for ETHAN: California Dreamy Series. It'll go through some serious changes, I think, but you'll still recognize it come July.
Feel free to let me know what you think!
