A Paean for Gaiman or What I Learned Reading The Ocean at the End of the Lane

So Neil Gaiman has a new book coming out in June. It’s called The Ocean at the End of the Lane.

I mention this for those of you who live deep in the wilderness or high atop some craggy mountain. (I’m assuming you access my blog with the help of some sort of friendly pigeon, or by using a type of prana-bindu meditation.)

I assume everyone except a complete eremite knows this book is coming out. Because generally speaking, I’m pretty clueless, and I’ve known about it for over half a year.

Sarah I genuinely enjoy your "fangirl" reaction. I can't imagine how exciting opening that package must have been. Very jealous!

María This only made me more excited about the book. I really cannot wait to get it in my own hands! I'm so jealous (in a very good way of jealous, of course, but jealous anyway).

Frederick You may not be cool like Gaiman but you are cool like Rothfuss and that club is, to me, just as exclusive.

Funny, your fans wait for your next book in much the same way...

Though at this stage I am (secretly) hoping it times with the completion of my Phd, as I fully realise that I'll need to lock myself away in order to reread the first two before indulging - and that, that is a task that will take some time (at least a 'little').

Derek I have a very similar addiction. What started this past week as a desire to use up an Amazon gift card I had received a couple of months ago turned into an order on Amazon and a trip to the used book store, wherein I ended up with 12 more books than I'd started. Still, I regret nothing about my addiction to books - some I turn in to the used store, others will stay on my shelf forever. And I am fine with that.

Cathie You and me both on the addiction front of reading. Soooo jealous you got to read it and you got a special copy. I guess it pays to be a famous writer ;-)
