Success Mindset 101: Top 10 Traits Of A Frequent Failure

I’ve spent a lot of time over the years teaching people how to make money online and the success mindset of a successful person. While showing them the successful strategies I have used to make a lot of money from my living room, I would always encounter a few familiar barriers.

These Success Mindset Barriers Were…

images Success Mindset 101: Top 10 Traits Of A Frequent FailureIt didn’t take me long to realize that these were nothing more than excuses as to why they don’t have a success mindset needed to make it, not just in this business, but in life itself.

Most of my time coaching I had to spend a great deal more on expelling the mental roadblocks than I did showing them the actual method’s that make money.

So I stopped teaching make money formulas.

The real issue with people not being successful wasn’t their method, it was their mindset. So I’ve put together the top attitudes or traits of a frequently failing person.

I know it sounds a little cold to call someone a failure but we have to acknowledge the negative so that we can reveal the positive and begin the process of change.

So, here is my top 10 list for the first success mindset posts in the series…

[box_light]#10: Blaming everyone else for all of their problems.[/box_light]

It was always the wife or the children or someone else that kept them from taking action and succeeding. They never owned the problem; they only defer it to someone else.

When you do this, you give outside influences too much power, taking it away from yourself.

[box_light]#9: Lack of confidence[/box_light]

Have you ever heard Michael Jordan say “I think I’m the best player in the world” before? No…he knew he was the best basketball player in the world and that’s what made him so great.

You are what you believe you are, not what you are supposed to be. Success mindset people know this and ooze over with confidence.

[box_light]#8: Too many excuses.[/box_light]

An excuse is easy to find for not having success. Yet success only cares about results, not your reasons for refusing to take action.

Remove them and find excuses why you can’t fail instead of why you can’t succeed.

[box_light]#7: Wants to make money fast.[/box_light]

Instant gratification is the enemy of success. A mindset such as this is an indication that you don’t want a sustainable income, you want a hustle. Keep your day job, it’s the easiest hustle to maintain.

That’s why a vast majority never stops working for someone else but if you want to break out of the rat race, know that it’s going to take some time.

In edition, making money fast doesn’t exist. The only time it exists is after you’ve spend time learning and building. Results come fast only after these first two steps.

[box_light]#6: Treats their business like a hobby.[/box_light]

Success mindset people know that, in order for a business to prosper, it needs to be in order.

Just like you organize yourself to get up every morning, brush your teeth, go to work, perform various tasks…every day…your business requires the same amount of effort for it to succeed.

[box_light]#5: Wants an easy fix.[/box_light]

Let’s be real. You didn’t get into debt overnight. It took you months, probably years, of money mismanagement and overspending. It’s going to take some time to get you out of that situation and stabilize your finances.

The success mindset is to combine a strong belief with realism. You will solve the problem, just not today.

[box_light]#4: Has a negative outlook on life.[/box_light]

You ever try to encourage someone when you’re frustrated beyond reason over a situation? That’s what being negative is to success. You can’t progress with a bad attitude. The two doesn’t work well together at all. Change it.

[box_light]#3: Wants people to do things for them.[/box_light]

While some things need to be done by other people, it’s important that you have a desire to leave the nest and fly on your own for a while. It’s empowering to know that, if every outside help fails you, you can do the tasks yourself.

Successful business people know how to do everything within their company if duty calls for it and so should you.

[box_light]#2: Only being in it for the money.[/box_light]

When you get a chance read Bob Burg’s book “The Go Giver” throughly. He breaks down why you don’t work for the money but for the service of giving and how that makes you rich.

I can’t even begin to explain the concept within a blog post. It’s a short book, reads like a novel but has an incredible message that will change your life forever.

[box_light]#1: Thinks they know everything there is to know.[/box_light]

I’ve always found this one disturbing. I would get into my coaching, showing them how to setup systems and create campaigns, and some people would take over the discussion. They would tell me they know it already.

They would tell me they heard that before and it doesn’t work; they would tell me all kinds of things, interrupting my process.

So I would ask them one question: “Have you put it into operation yet?” Their answers where almost always “no.”

No.

How do you know it doesn’t work if you haven’t tried it? Worse than that, if someone told you what I just told you before and you still haven’t done anything about it, how are you planning to succeed? And lastly, when the first person told you, did you tell him or her you knew it already and threw it away too?

Really…just don’t be a know it all. You don’t know everything and to someone who thinks they do, they know nothing at all. The more I learn the more I find out how much I don’t know.

Knowledge is a trip because when you really learn something, it’s only then that you find out there is a lot more to learn about the little you just learned.

Open your mind up, become like a child, and learn all that you can without restrictions. Only then will you have the true success mindset needed to make it, not just in business, but in life.
