You have been taught to compete. You do not want to do that but everyone around you tells you different success stories by which you get intrigued and rush for things to be accomplished quickly. You set your goals and keep eyes on them and forget every other thing that also needs your attention.
It is not wrong to have ambitions in life. It is also not wrong to set goals in life. Following your dreams and goals is no way wrong at all but the way we pursue them could be worried about.
