As some of you may have heard me mention, I’m one of several million Americans still on dial-up internet. This isn’t a money issue; even if I did have sixty bucks a month to hurl at my desire for webisodes and porn, I live in a rural area where high-speed internet is straight up unavailable. The subdivision down the road from me has it, but the local provider (a
legal monopoly
, by the way) can’t be assed to add the capacity for me and my neighbors to get connected.
