Providence in Practicality

Was talking with my sister yesterday about how God works in the lives of His children. We both agreed that Christians shouldn't think life will be a bed of roses. However, nor should we think it will be hell here on earth.
God uses things to work in our lives to make us first, more like His beloved and only begotten Son, Jesus. Second, it is to make us more effective for His Kingdom. Third, it is for the benefit of His Church. Finally, but most importantly, it is for God's glory alone.

Sadly, many believers have been wrongly taught that if they struggle, have trials and tribulation, it is because of some "secret" and/or "unconfessed" sin in their life. That is not true. As my sister and I talked we shared how Christ took our judgment and therefore sin wasn't being judged but we might be getting disciplined. This is never in judgment but in love.

Believers should learn to trust, as the Heidelberg teaches, that all things come from our Heavenly Father's loving Hands. As my sister said, If we can't trust our Faithful Father, who can we trust.
