In completely non-writing-related news...

I'm currently knee-deep in sorting through my apartment as I prepare for my move from NYC to San Francisco. So of course that means I'm finding any and every reason I can to procrastinate. *grins shamelessly* And one of those finds was a Chibi maker. What's a Chibi? Well...

This is a Chibi. Specifically, this is Chibi ME.

Yup, so that's my big reveal of the week. This is pretty much what I'd look like if I were a Chibi, right down to the black tank, grey cardigan, bright corduroys, black flats, and red glasses.  Plus the mug of tea in my hand (can't forget that!).

Anyway, if you're curious and want to make your own Chibi, check out the Chibi maker here  at deviantart. But make sure you have an hour to kill because let me tell you - cartoonifying yourself can be STRANGELY addictive. :D

Putting the "pro" into procrastinate,

NJ

P.S. Actually, I lied - I have some writing-related news. My short story was accepted by Dreamspinner Press to be included in their next anthology! Woop woop! This is the one that just flowed out of me in the course of 2.5 days. It felt SO damned good to write, and I'm so glad that DSP thought so, too! So keep your eyes peeled for the Cuddling anthology, which will focus on established couples. More info on this story and the anthology later. :)

And congratulations on the story!

Nico Jaye Thanks, Kaje! :D

The things you find when you're procrastinating... :)

*stares balefully at the pile of stuff to be sorted*

Myka Oh! I love chibis! Thanks for the link!

message 4: by Nico (new)

Nico Jaye You're welcome! ^__^

message 5: by Jess (new)

Jess Candela Congrats, on both the story and the move to fabulous San Francisco. :) You should join the Bay Area M/M Book Group, if you want to hang out with other m/m readers.

And I'm not sure whether to thank or curse you for the chibi link. I've just wasted waaaay too much time there. I can't say you didn't warn me, it really is oddly addictive!

message 6: by Nico (new)

Nico Jaye Thanks, Jess!

I'll definitely check that group out. :) I grew up in SF, but, other than visits home, I haven't lived there since leaving for college. It'll be nice to connect with some new people.

The Chibi maker is ridiculous, isn't it? I'd tell you how much time I've spent on there, but it's just too embarrassing, heh. >__<

Jess Candela Well, welcome back then! :) We meet up every month and always have a great time. Hope to meet you soon!

I share your embarrassment about admitting how long I've spent playing with the Chibi maker. Yikes!

message 8: by Nico (new)

Nico Jaye That sounds awesome. Thanks for letting me know about it! :)

And I jumped ship from the Chibi maker and just joined tumblr. Because clearly I needed even MORE ways to procrastinate. But um...so many pretties on tumblr...so many! ^__^

message 9: by Jess (new)

Jess Candela Welcome to the group! We seem to pretty consistently have 4-5 people at each meeting, which is a nice number, though there's the occasional month higher or lower than that.

Tumblr overwhelms me, though that doesn't keep me from checking it out sometimes. :)

Jennifer Having been lucky enough to have met you in person, Chibi you is actually adorably close! Add a sparkly gray hat for winter. :-)

message 11: by Nico (new)

Nico Jaye Jess, I joined Tumblr mainly to keep track of pretties, both hot menfolk and cute cat gifs. :D I'll keep an eye on the group's next meetups and hopefully will be able to make one later this summer!

Jennifer, awww shucks. *stubs toe in dirt* You should make one, too...but they would need a tall person Chibi option. :D
