Should there be a chapter from the third book in the second?

Hello everyone,
In light of being close to finishing my second book, I was curious about something that I see in some books and not others. Many books have the first chapter or so from the next book in them to get readers interested in it before it comes out. Would this be something that you think I should do? If so, how much/ how many chapters should I put in? Any imput would be helpful.
Luck and Love,

Kaine Andrews Well, I've made a habit of tossing in the intro chapter from my next book at the end of each of mine; I have no idea if it produces the desired effect, but it makes me feel better, anyway. Mind you, my books aren't directly related to one another and tend to be a bit spastic in content/tone/voice/whatever.

As far as in series, I honestly don't recall seeing that too often. The only example I can think of would be the Alex Cross novels, and I'm basically always going to buy the new one anyway, so unsure if it influenced my own decisions or not.

As far as amount, I've never seen it be more than a single chapter, though I'm sure you could do more if you felt like it. I don't believe there's an unspoken law about it or anything.

Overall though, I'd say "If it pleases you, makes you feel better, or at least one fan asked about it, DO IT." But that's just my 2 cents.

Thank you for the advice. I didn't do it for the first book into the second so it might be a little inconsistant to do it from the second to the third. What I might do is post the first chapter of the third book on my website since that's what I did with the second book. Thanks again :) PS: how's the writing for the collab going?
