Just wanted to let you know your like my new favorite author. I was taken away by 'Broken'. I finished it just a while ago I was eager to read the sequels. Since I was disappointed of the end. Than I came across you broke up Adriana and Alec. I wasn't too happy about that. You had a few flaws but I can look past them cause all in all it was a great story. An I never truly like twilight but this series is awesome. I was surprised your a male writer lol cause it was such a touching story. The odd part is.. Well you made Adriana kinda needy. An Alec a little to distant. Anyway I knew all along Alec was her savior lol I could just tell. But anyways keep up the good work. Oh an I was wondering will this ever turn into a movie? I soo wish it would! You would soo truly beat twilight!

Hi,Nikki.I'm very glad to hear that you've enjoyed the story overall so far-even if there are a few flaws to it :)
As far as Broken and Torn being turned into a movie only time will tell. Nobody has approached me yet about turning it into a movie, but maybe if enough copies sell it will come to pass :)
Thanks,
Dean
Hi, Danielle.I'm glad to hear that you're interested in learning more about some of the other characters. Have you read Trapped?
I think you'll be glad to hear that in Riven I start doing a lot more to develop some of the other characters in the series, and Riven sets things up such that I'll be able to continue to spend more time with some of the supporting characters that haven't had a chance to get much stage time yet.
I'll keep your comment about wanting more of Alec's backstory in mind. I'm not sure how I would weave that into the series yet, but I think it's a good idea.
Thanks,
Dean
I have the feeling that their loyalty is going to be tested sometime in the not-to-distant future :)
While the Alec/Adri story melts my heart... I LOVE the back story books too. This is a pack, with pack life, but they all came to be part of it somehow and it's interesting to know how they got there, what has happened in their past, and how to deal with the future. I hope many other readers feel the same way.
Hi, Jenn.I love getting the back story out there, so I'm glad to hear that you feel that way!
One of the really cool things about this process is that I don't always know how something happened until I sit down to write it, and I'm always astounded at the way that pieces that I didn't necessarily expect to be related fit together to drive a particular story forward.

To start with, you are officially my new favorite author. I just finished Torn and already read Broken and I like how they fit so well with each other. Both books are really interesting in a way that whichever you start with, you just feel like reading the other half of the story and that's one thing I love about them. They were so captivating that it wasn't easy to put it down for the day. And when I actually did, I couldn't stop reflecting on it and continued reading it in my free time. I think you can write one book about Adri's life before she moved to Sanctuary with her dad and Cindy still alive with a part about how the accident happened and end it with Adri and her mom moving into Sanctuary, tying it with the beginning of Broken, and another book with Alec, his dad still alive before he was killed. I also think it would be really interesting to have a bit of Brandon's side, you know, how he really felt about Adri and how he got his power.
Hi, Sharon.Thanks, that's pretty high praise! :)
Those are some good ideas for places to go with future books. I'll have to let them simmer in the back of my mind for a little while and see what comes out.
I've got a few stories now that I've wanted to write but which I just couldn't get to gel into a suitable book/short story.
Sometimes the plot has been too thin, or the conflict just wasn't there to support an interesting read.
I think I could probably write a book about the Sanctuary pack back during Alec's dad's time, but prequels are always a little tricky because the reader knowing how it will end seems to usually rob the book of some of its power.
I am however trying to touch on some of the points you raised via some less conventional means. A key scene from the early days of the Sanctuary pack makes it's way into Splintered. (I think you're going to like that part.)
I just finished my first Dark Reflections novel. This one is from Alec's point of view (at least I think that's how it will ultimately end up. Originally I was planning on flipping back and forth between Alec and Adri's point of view during the entire book, but it didn't work out that way.)
This one essentially is set in a timeline where Alec's father wasn't killed, so you get one version of how life could have been if Kaleb hadn't been killed by Agony.
The next project on the docket is to go back and write the Adri half of the opening to the Dark Reflections story line, so there you will get to see Adri interacting with Cindy and her dad. Again, it's meant to just be one version of how things could have been, not necessarily the only version of life in which her dad and Cindy didn't die in the car accident, but I'm hoping to get some touching moments in there along with the drama and angst.
Brandon is a little more tricky, but there are some small revelations about him in the Dark Reflections book I just finished up too. They are pretty subtle, but for those who pick up on them it will cast some of his actions in Broken and Torn in a different light.
Sorry, that's quite the wall of text, but hopefully it gives you a bit of a taste of some of what's in the pipeline still.
Honestly, in the post-Riven world I find myself in right now, my biggest problem is trying to decide on which story threads to pick up in which order and how to tie them all back together, so it's probably going to be a while before I'd be looking at going in and filling in more of the back story, but you never know, an idea may grab me and refuse to let go :)
I hope you continue to enjoy the series, there are some big things about to happen!
Dean
Cool :) I'm sure I'll love it. I want to download the whole of Splintered, the other books in the Reflections series, but I can't find a website where I can do that for free without having to sign up to the website to get it or downloading an app before downloading the books. Anyway, thanks for the insight. I love it. Glad to have given you some ideas for some future books :)
I had no idea you replied back haha I forgot how to get back here lol. But I read torn this week an splintered an forsaken. I love them! I was really angry when I thought that Alec was gonna marry Tasha I was like no way!! I really hope your series turns into a movie. its way better than vampire diaries. I just started watching that show an its not as good as your series. But seriously your series should be a movie or at least a tv series. I just hope that if it does that they pick decent looking people to play as the charectars especially Alec. Hes like my favorite lol. Btw don't stop writing the series like Jk Rowling did lol. it was awful when she did an haha I stopped reading for a long time. Until I found your series! have a nice day :)
Hi, Nikki.Don't forget Trapped and Riven ;)
I'm glad you're still enjoying the series. Don't worry, there are still a lot of books to go in the series, not to mention I still need to tie Geoffrey from The Greater Darkness into the Series and I just finished the rough drafts for two Dark Reflections novels.
I would love to see the series turned into a movie, but that's probably a little ways away still :)
Dean
Probably so. But im pretty sure that you would get more ratings than Vampire diaries and twilight. I did like how you mentioned them in your book. when I saw sunnydale I was like ohh buffy. That was my favorite series. Until after season 3. Btw Alec is my favorite I felt his pain when she left him. I was like omg no she didn't. An than that new girl got into the mix and I was like no way! I thought maybe Adri would have a wake up call a lot quicker lol Im glad he didn't go through with the wedding.
It's kind of fun to put in references to some of the other series/shows that I've enjoyed. There is a reference to Vampire Diaries in there too :)I loved Buffy. My favorite story arc was up through the end of season 2/beginning of season 3.
