The perils of a common name

There seems to be another D.C. Williams who writes romance novels. Very much not the kind I write. And while I wish this writer much success in his or her efforts, I'm not thrilled by the potential confusion. And I did publish first, and checked carefully for likely duplicates. It does appear that at least one of the people who bought one of my novels then bought hers(?). Now in a perfect world, this reader would enjoy both books, but I'm still not thrilled.

I don't write that kind of book, and I don't really want to be thought of as writing that kind of book (wish-fulfillment heterosexual romance about beautiful people) and I'm betting the other author doesn't want to be perceived as writing the kind of books I write. Oh, well.
