Almost 10 years ago, I started writing an interesting literary murder mystery called Coeur d’Alene Waters. For 4 years, it was agented by the excellent Jeff Gerecke in NYC. And it was turned down, over and over, as “too dark”, “too much about the Pacific Northwest,” or (my favorite) “excellent, but too long for print.”

So I’m happy to announce that my first novel — COEUR D’ALENE WATERS — has been picked up by the Prospero Book Group. Published this week as an e-book for KINDLE :

And in June in print. Yay!

The novel is a dark and gritty murder mystery… darker in fact than my current medieval novel. So it may not suit everyone’s taste, but for those who like a midnight atmosphere and an unsolved crime, it may be just the thing. And if you’re interested in genuine Northwest history, there’s a lot of that in here… so enjoy!
