Self Publish or Die with Emily Walker
Thanks so much to my friend and fellow author, Emily Walker for interviewing with me today. Emily is a multi-talented gal who has several published works. Her re-release of Long Road, Full Speed ahead is scheduled for June 19th.
I appreciate you dropping by, Emily.
‘My pleasure, Catherine. I love sharing with your readers.”
Let’s get right to the questions, shall we?
What inspired you to write your first book?
I was ghost writing for some authors on a freelance website and started to think, I can do this. I wanted credit for what I was writing besides doing a confidentiality agreement to never talk about it.
What authors have influenced your life and writing?
Robert Heinlein. I read him growing up because my Dad gave me all his books. He is an inspiration to me, and he was definitely ahead of his time.
What book are you reading now?
Ghost Hand by Ripley Patton, a great YA thrill ride, and so original. I recommend it!
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
So many I love Alexia Purdy she isn’t really new, I have so many friends in the writing world indie and traditional that I adore and I can’t list them all.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
I would love to exclusively share some of my current WIP – Solo with you.
I have designed some covers, {the simpler ones like this one}
My friend Khelsey Jackson has done some for me; LD Hutchinson does a lot for me, and Alexia Purdy. I am lucky to have a slew of talented friends.
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Getting my brain to shut up long enough to write the part I am focused on at that moment. It jumps all over the place.
Are you an Indie Author? If so, what do you like about independent publishing?
I am both self published and published through a publisher. What I like the best about my self published works is that I have creative control, I have control of pricing, and when a book comes out. I like that control.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Just keep writing, don’t give up and always believe in yourself.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thank you. Ever single reader is someone I share a small piece of me with!
! Follow me on Facebook and Twitter and check out my websites Self Publish or Die Reviews From Beyond the Book Lyra Mcken and Jewels Moss!! I have far too many and a few pen names. Thank you so so much Catherine for having me! I won’t object to all the lettering being pink in my post {my favorite color}
