Unwanted Appeal - Hidden Wolves 2.5 available

I've uploaded the files to Goodreads for this free short story (or is 33,000 words a novella?) Either way, Unwanted Appeal - Hidden Wolves 2.5 takes place shortly after the end of Unexpected Demands - Book 2. It has spoilers for the novel, so they're really best read in order.

It's available now in .pdf and .epub, and I hope you enjoy it. Unwanted Appeal (Hidden Wolves 2.5) by Kaje Harper .

Goodreads isn't letting me upload .mobi files at the moment, but I'll get this onto Smashwords soon (I hope) which will make the other formats available there.

Ami Just saw this now, and thus made me REALLY excited!! By the way, I will count 33,000 as novella :-)

message 3: by Urbanista (new)

Urbanista I'm getting this, even though I don't have the books yet. Slaver, drool, etc.

Don't read it first though :) And definitely don't read the other freebie first - both spoilers and it won't make much sense. You can just look at the pretty covers :)

No worries - far more good books than time, for all of us.

Urbanista Drool? Well, slaver, maybe? No?

message 6: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper your call ;)

message 7: by Shinsetsu (new)

Shinsetsu Awesome read! Thanks for such a lengthy freebie =D

message 8: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper I'm glad you liked it. It was tempting to move the relationship a bit further, but there's a fine line between making freebies fun to read, and making them lightweight enough that someone reading only the commercial books doesn't feel like they missed a big chunk. I was aiming to split the difference here :)

Leni Thanks for the bonus! Love it

message 10: by Eve (new)

Eve I pounced on this as soon as I got the email. I was so wonderful to get lost in the pack story again. Thank you sooooo much Kaje. Going through withdrawal now.

message 11: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper :) I'm working on the next novel, although I have some edits on other stories to do in between.

Michael After reading (and being blown away)your March Free Short Story ** Doubts and Darkness ** at YA LGBT I bought the two Hidden Wolves books and downloaded the two freebies. I've read the first three and started Unwanted Appeal this morning.

I can not wait for 3.0 to come out. Do you feel this might be a series that goes on for quite a bit?

Well, book 3 is started and book 4 is already written. I'm not quite sure how the series will go. I'd originally conceived of it as being more about wolf society, with different couples and even different packs for most books. But I'm having trouble stepping away from Aaron's pack. Which is why there's now a book 3 coming between 2 and 4. Long answer to say, yes, there probably will be several more. I'm so glad you're liking these.

My freebie novel from the M/M group will also be a full length classic fantasy, and I have a free fantasy short story on my website (Fae story - Within Reach) and another fantasy (with dubcon) in the Carved in Flesh anthology if Fantasy is your preference.

When you say M/M group is that the M/M Romance group? I asked to be a member a month or two ago but no response.

They have been having a heck of a time with requests not even getting through. Goodreads has a new policy where if you don't have an 18+ birthdate in your profile they don't forward the request to 18+ groups and don't tell you that. And sometimes the group didn't get the requests even with a birthdate on record. They've noticed the new member rate is down quite a bit, but have no way to see who is asking. They aren't rejecting anyone over 18 on purpose, so as long as you have a birthdate in there (and it can be a fake one as long as over 18) then click on one of the moderators and PM them and they'll get you in. It's been a technical mess, not a rejection.

Thanks! I'll do that, and being over 18 is so not a problem! Wow, this Goodreads is pretty cool. It's neat having the Authors speaking to us Mortals! :)

Hah, you'll find out just how darned mortal we are ;) Be warned. You shouldn't have a problem getting in, but let me know if you don't hear back. The group is a lot of fun, and we're about to have this year's summer free story release - 189 stories coming in June, July and Aug from group member authors. Mine is a 103K fantasy novel.
