T is for Trust

It is one of the most essential elements of any long-lasting relationship. We hear that all the time but, it really is true. The dictionary describes trust as, “the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something.”

Without that “firm belief” in each other, there is almost no point in continuing. True love can’t exist without trust. If you can’t trust in one another to be there, if you can’t lean on each other and know without a doubt that your significant other will be there for you in any situation, then love becomes fraught with uncertainty and doubt. It’s not only difficult to build a loving relationship without trust, it’s pretty near impossible.

Here’s a musical interlude from Etta James on the subject.
