Not Drowning, But Waving

Hello! I've been on Goodreads for awhile but really dug in today and began to try to figure it all out. I have joined a couple of groups and will be finding my way around in those shortly. So far, the fun has been in following my stream of consciousness from book to book as Goodreads prompted me to rate my favorites.

I have been writing a book for five years, just completed and put up on Amazon last week. (There must be more about that somewhere here). In the meantime I am always happy to get suggestions for other books. I prefer works of towering genius - Middlemarch is my favorite book ever. I want to find new things that over power me and make me love them: most recent experience of this kind was Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. I also like funny books - but they have to be really funny (I love David Sedaris, for instance, and P.G. Wodehouse). Got anything for me? Thanks for stopping by.
