Suunman One of my Favourite series, I love the characters - Jenks and Ivy etc... I read ever after within a week of it being published so I spent a lot more than $7.99 on it.

That said I'm starting to see your point that so many of the heroines in Urban Fantasy are so much alike. But Kate Daniels and Rachel Morgan are two of my favourites.

Yes, you get this feeling of "Am I about to read this book, or have I already read it?"

I think it's the down side of traditional publishing - publishers think they know 'what works' so that's what they demand. Or authors think they know, so that's what they write. I can't think of another explanation for the 'crazes' we see - with the 'angels' craze, we're seeing authors writing 'something with angels in' that's just not as good as their usual stuff. Classic band-wagon behaviour.

I sometimes want to smack Rachel Morgan, but the Hollows books are still one of my favourite urban fantasy series, because the characters are unique, and they develop throughout the series. No cardboard cut-outs, no oh-my-god-not-again stereotypes. And, hooray, thank you universe (and Kim Harrison), no cringeworthy woman-have-you-no-self-respect 'love' triangle that is basd purely on lust because none of the characters involved have any interest in each other as people.

I'd be interested in a book sale if I didn't already have an electronic copy!
