RT Convention Schedule

For easy stalking I present my schedule for the May 1-5 Romance Times Convention happening in Kansas City. (say that with a Canuck shed-u-al accent, please)


I’ll be doing a few reader events, attending some parties, and be at both the Ebook Expo and the giant public multi-author book signing. Full convention schedule. NOTE: The convention now offers day passes, including $5 entry to the book fairs. See the registration page for details.


I’m not putting swag out in promo alley–but I’ll have fun stuff on me, so come on up and say hello!


Wednesday, May 1

1:15pm - 2:15pm       READER: COWBOY CORRAL  Join a bevy of the hottest contemporary and historical western romance authors for a rip-roaring good time! There’ll be book giveaways, premium swag, line dancing, cowboy models and prizes. Saddle up and come on down, we’ll be waiting for ya at the Cowboy Corral.  Panelist(s):   C.H. 5:00pm - 6:00pm     READER: ROMANCE READER APPLES TO APPLES   Join some wild romance authors as they take the fun — and wholesome — game of Apples to Apples and transform it, RT-style! Get ready to giggle, blush, win fabulous prizes and have a wicked good time.  Panelist(s):  Zoë Archer, Vivian Arend, Victoria Dahl, Lauren Dane, Louisa Edwards, Nico Rosso


 



Thursday, May 2

 4:00pm - 6:00pm     SOCIAL EVENT: E-BOOK, INDIE PUBLISHER & GRAPHIC NOVEL EXPO   Come meet more than 300 authors whose books are available as e-books, self-published and independent press books. This event is also open to the public. Tickets are $5.00 and you can purchase a ticket at the door the day of the event. Here is a link to all the authors who have registered thus far and will be participating in the EXPO.




6:15pm - 7:45pm        SOCIAL EVENT: SAMHAIN’S SAFARI   Lions and tigers and shapeshifters… oh my! Enjoy jungle beats, tasty treats and gaming feats with the staff and authors at Samhain Publishing. This year we celebrate all things shapeshifter with food and drink, games, music and prizes including e-readers, Samhain store gift cards and plenty of books. Take a walk on the wild side with us!


Evening: After 9:30pm I should be found in my office AKA the bar


Friday, May 3

10:00-11:00               PUBLISHER SPOTLIGHT: SAMHAIN PUBLISHING   Publisher Spotlights are where representatives from the company speak to a group of aspiring and published authors to let them know which type of book and which genres they are acquiring, the word length and any other information an author may need to know to determine if your book is right for their company. They will also discuss submission requirements and/or provide a handout.



1:15pm - 3:30pm       SOCIAL EVENT: RT BOOK REVIEWS AWARDS CEREMONY  Cheer on your favorites as RT Book Reviews presents the 2012 Reviewers Choice Awards and the Career Achievement Awards.






Evening: After 9pm I should be found in my office


 



Saturday, May 4


11:00am - 2:00pm       SOCIAL EVENT: GIANT BOOK FAIR   Meet more than 400 authors who will autograph books, posters and bookmarks. Bring your “keepers” and have them signed! This event is also open to the public and can be purchased as an individual ticket for just the Giant Book Fair. Here is a link to all the authors who have registered thus far.


8:00pm - 9:00pm        SOCIAL EVENT: CARINA PRESS COCKTAIL PARTY   Join Carina Press authors, Executive Editor Angela James and other members of the Carina Press team for an hour of cocktails and light snacks starting at 8pm. Kick off your evening with delicious treats and take part in a fun activity designed to help you get to know Carina Press authors better. Participants will be entered into our drawing for an iPad 2 (the winner will be announced at the end of the party).

I really hope to see some of you there. If you’re planning on coming, leave a note in the comments so I can look for you. And if you can’t make this event, perhaps Germany, Atlanta or Bellevue will work better!
