Playing tag is so much fun =)
Growing up, we would play tag outside in the neighborhood. It was so fun running around without a care in the world and chasing your friends-sometimes a cute boy! Yes even at six years old I was boy crazy!
Patricia Mann, author of Is This All There Is?, tagged me and I was happy to play. Sorry that it took a while! I read Is This All There Is? and fell in LOVE! Beth is a mother, wife and a professor. Somewhere down the line she lost sight of her own life and desires. Everything seems routine until she runs into Dave at a club. Mind you, he’s twenty-one! Cougar status! I don’t want to give out too much of the book but let me tell you-EYE OPENER! I just recently got married to my husband, Kevin, in June 2012. We’ve been together for over six years so I understand what it’s like to have your life feel dull. Granted I don’t have kids, yet, but I understand what Beth was going through. Patricia Mann was one of the Goddesses that took me under her wing and helped me so much. As a first time author, I’m scared but the support from her and my lovely Goddesses has helped me so much. Love you all!
Alright so basically if you’re tagged that just means you talk about a book you’re working on or have released. I will tag a few lovely authors and they’ll do the same. It’s fun and exciting plus I mean you get to find out more about us-that’s pretty awesome! Now the authors I tag will tag others and it’ll be a never ending game! Got it? Good! Let’s dance <3
What is the working title of your book?
Reaching Out For You
Where did the idea come from for the book?
One night during dinner with Kevin, we were talking about how our lives have been and for some reason an idea popped in my head about finding love and yourself again. Side note-my husband helps me believe in love and everything good in life. My book is about two people, Adam and Sophia, who used to be best friends but when tragedy hits, Adam leaves her in the dark. Four years later, they’re reunited but it might be too late. Sophia is dating Kyle, all around great guy in the eyes of others, but what happens behind closed doors is something dark and evil. Will Adam be able to save her or will he let the darkness consume her?
What genre does your book fall under?
Contemporary Romance/New Adult/A touch of erotica
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
This question makes me laugh! I’d die if this were to happen! Here’s to dreaming! So if I could choose this would be my dream cast:
Adam (main character) Zac Efron/Chace Crawford/Chad Michael Murray
Sophia (main character) Jennifer Lawrence/Nina Dobrev/Emily Van Camp
Kyle (the boyfriend) Max Thieriot
Connor (Adam’s best friend) Liam Hemsworth
Erin (Sophia’s best friend) Julianna Hough/Blake Lively
Don’t laugh at my list LOL!
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Adam and Sophia are reunited after four years of silence but will the y be able to rebuild their relationship or will Sophia be sucked into the darkness with nowhere to go?
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-publishing in hopes of getting recognized by a publisher. Hey! A girl can dream!
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I got the idea in December of 2012 and didn’t start writing until February. I am done with my manuscript so I am in the editing process-joy.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I graduated from St. John Fisher and studied English so I’ve always loved to read and write. I never thought about publishing anything until I started reading books by self published authors like Sandi Lynn, J. Lynn, J. Kenner, Jessica Sorensen, A. Meredith Walters, Kendall Ryan, Cora Carmack and Kelly Favor. It wasn’t until I read Forever Black by Sandi Lynn that made me want to write. I always had ideas going through my mind and when I connected with Sandi, something in me just lit up and I knew I wanted to write.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
It’s a romance book and the characters are relatable. Sophia is going through so much and is holding a secret-one that many women go through and I think it’ll show the strength of women and being able to overcome anything. Adam is every woman’s fantasy. He’s sexy, smart, romantic, protective-the whole nine.
Thanks for reading my loves! Now here’s my list of authors I’ve selected and why!
1.Carey Heywood
A little bundle of delight and cute as can be-that’s what I think when I talk with Carey. Author of Uninvolved, A Bridge of Her Own and Stages of Grace, Carey has been a great friend since we’ve “met.” I haven’t had the pleasure of reading her books but they are on my TBR list. Just by reading the synopsis of her books, I’m hooked! She’s able to write about love, loss, drama, strength and realization of your own self. Her two released books have gotten so much positive praise. Carey Heywood is definitely someone to look forward to! You can find out more about Carey on her Facebook page:

2.Rachel Rae
A sweetheart that is on that path of writing her first book! She’s such a wonderful person and I can’t wait to read what’s next for her. Her posts are hilarious and the support she gives to other authors is truly amazing. Facebook has connected so many of us and even though we’ve never “met,” Rachel’s love and support for others is incredible. Everything is still in the air but she’s going to present us with an incredible book and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for her.
