Book Review: The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown

This was a book which I read quite a while back, and I remember having to put my common sense aside and enjoying the ride. I mean, let’s face it… regardless of what religion you believe in, all organised religion *does* have all of the crucial evidence missing to substantiate their claims.

(I know, Religion… taboo! Hissssssssssssssssss. Be afraid to discuss!)

Because, of course… it’s all a matter of faith. Not saying it’s not true, just saying that it’s far too convenient.

I certainly do not believe that the fiction written here is valid, and for those crazed readers who walk around with “The Da Vinci code” as if it is some kind of bible… I say:

It’s just a book of fiction!!!!

But this is exactly how Dan Brown could literally drive a truck through those holes, and that is exactly what he did.

What we get served… is a mystery which is actually pretty well done (in my humble opinion), and does give a decent twist in the ending.

The writing is decent, as is the characterisation. Just don’t go expecting this book to be something it is not. Also, the film adaptation was pretty well done. But I never expected Tom Hanks to take the lead, that was a bit of a surprise.

Overall, it is a decent read that I do recommend reading if you haven’t already. After all, it’s a million times worthy of its hype than 50 shades of Oh Crap!
