From “Charmeine“…

“I know you are truthful,” and whispered, “I also believe you would never hurt me.”
He looked at her intently and his heart warmed. “Miss Davis, I said you were not my type, because you were not a Blood-Hunter. Who am I to blame you if you doubt what I am saying to you is real? You are so innocent. I did not want you to know there was Evil as myself in the world. This curse is my secret shame. But now, I do not know what to do with all this.” Tabbruis hung his head again.
Charmeine She lifted his chin. “Why? What can you do? What is there to do?” Even though her head ached, she got up and walked out on the terrace.
Tabbruis just put his head in his hands with his elbows on his knees. He had told her the truth and thought, ‘What will she do? Will she run? Will she leave me?’ His heart started to ache. When he saw her in the parking lot, his heart came alive. Now, it seemed his heart was breaking.
Charleen was confused, but she knew he was telling her the truth. She let the wind whip her hair around her head, and it cleared her mind. She was processing the last few minutes looking at the New York Harbor. She felt a stab in her heart at the thought of ever leaving him. Then she said in soft murmur, “I’m scared.”
Tabbruis’ sensitive ears heard her. He raced out to the terrace and stood in front of her. “I promise Miss Davis. I will never hurt you. You are safe. I am determined to protect you. Please do not be scared.”
She shook her head as tears welled in her eyes. Charleen tackled him with a tight hug around the neck. She desperately cried out, “No! No!  NO!”
Tabbruis did not know what to do. He looked at this delicate thing clinging to him for what seemed dear life itself. His heart felt like it was melting. He became overwhelmed with emotions he never felt before.

Then, as if he was in a dream, his strong arms wrapped around her. He returned her hug. At that moment, his heart started to beat loudly. This woman in his arms was the answer to all his prayers. He put his cheek against her forehead and felt so at peace.
“Shh, everything will be fine, shh.” He patted her back consoling her while she cried. He wanted to hold her like that for an eternity. He drank in her warmth she radiated to him. She smelled like sun-drenched roses in a meadow. This heavenly creature filled the void, the blackness in his soul which had been there since the second he awoke on the Earth. He was lost in the feeling of having her in his arms.
Especially, Tabbruis loved having her arms around him. However, he had to tug himself into reality. “Miss Davis…”
“Charleen… my name is Charleen,” she interrupted.
“If you wish, you may call me Tab.” He smiled and sighed with happiness. He held her as long as she cried. When she settled down he held her cheeks wiping her tears away with his thumbs.
Nevertheless, as much as Tabbruis hated to, he pulled away from her. It felt like he was walking in quicksand over to the patio door struggling not to turn around and hold her again. Her brightness intoxicated him. Her kindness warmed him. Her smile electrified him. Her touch…her touch aroused him.
She was hurt he left her arms. However, Charleen told herself she had to be more reserved. Getting down to business, she asked, “Tab? Tab, do you know what happened tonight?”
He started to pace. “Yes, I told you I am a Blood-Hunter.” He walked up and down the terrace a few times as she watched him. He stopped in front of her. “You…Miss Davis…Charleen, I am quite sure you are a Light-Bearer.”
She shook her head knowing he was truthful. “What’s a Light-Bearer?”
“Your kind…Light-Bearers are as old as the Blood-Hunters. Our races are mortal enemies of each other. Blood-Hunters hunt your kind and kill them…and vice-versa. Your power, your light, is lethal to us. The Elders want to rid the Earth of any threats to their power and made it a law that Blood-Hunters are supposed to kill Light-Bearers.”
She put her hands up and did not want to hear anymore.

However, even talking to you now and especially attacking the other Blood-Hunter tonight can sentence me to death. Letting you live is an abomination to the Elder Council. Nevertheless, I vow to protect you. A light such as yours should never be extinguished.”
“Oh my God! I don’t want anything to happen to you because of me. I have to go now!” She started to leave.
Tabbruis drew her in a tight hug as if an urgent need to keep her body connected to his. “I have been aimlessly walking the Earth for centuries, but I am sure now God has given me the purpose of my very existence to protect you.”
She struggled to get away from his embrace, but it felt so good to have his arms around her. “I can’t let you be condemned because of me.”  Tears were streaming down her face.
Tabbruis kept one arm around her, took one of his hands and pushed her trembling chin up so her eyes could meet his. “Now Charleen, look me in the eyes. I need to know the truth from you this time.”
Her tears were falling on his fingers and each one quenched a thirst, not a thirst for blood, but a thirst for love.
Looking into her eyes, he held her face with his hand and asked, “Can you leave me now?”
David Gandy Lucky brand fallHe wanted to say, can you break my heart once it began to beat when I saw you? Can you tear my soul away once it started to live inside me the moment you touched me? But he remembered she was a Light-Bearer, his opposite.
She never felt such deep emotions in her life. She whispered softly, “I… I don’t think I have the strength.” Charleen didn’t know why, but she had to be near him. His presence was like a missing piece to her heart. She looked into his deep green eyes, and her heart was full and complete. She blushed and looked down.
