An Easter Wish
Come bunny day,If i had my waythere would be only one thing in my basketPeace
Not just for me and mine, or you and yoursbut for the planet we live onI'd take away all the damage doneand put those who've allowed it on the run
There wouldbe no more chemical spills or polluated oceanThere would never be a single notion of drilling for oil. Or gas. Or gold
Progress is the rape of the natural world, says Malcolm in Jurrassic ParkAnd as we sit in our wooden homes and fiberglass carsthe planet around us dies
We smother it, cut off its limbs and gouge out its gutsNo wonder there are 8.9 earthqakes and mile deep rutsIt's just the planet dying
At this rate, it could go either wayand on this holidayI'd trade every choclate and jelly bean to replace the rainforest and watch the world once again turn green.
I'd embrace the changeapologize in shameI'd make new lawsI'd shut down the saws. EverywhereI'd save the whalesand use the railsInstead of filling my tank with gas
I'd raise my kids to love the worldand to marry not boys or girlsbut nature
I'd plant more treesand save the beeswithout whom,  the crops won't grow
I'd junk the cars and expand to MarsI'd explore wind and solar power and I'd do it now, as time shrinks by the hour
As the candy vanishes from holiday baskets, so does our way of life. Without change, there will be no peace, only random survivors
