Never Stop Reading #wwow

Picture Are you a writer? Then you must be a reader too, right? RIGHT!

Reading a book is like studying for a test. Sit down with one of your favorite authors and as you read it, study it. How did the author describe the heroine and hero's first kiss. Can you learn anything from it? YES!

Often times when I finish the first draft of a book, I like to go on a reading binge. Spend a week devouring books in the related genre, that way when I go to tackle draft two, I'm ready to expand. I'm ready to develope my stories to their fullest potential. Picture Besides reading romance novels, I also like to pick up marketing books and others that are related to the industry. I love reading books fellow authors put together with their tips on how they are doing it.

Recently a fellow author shared this book with me, The Emotion Thesaurus. The author recommended it highly as well as several other authors. I picked it up, and I muse agree, its a great writer's companion.

Never stop reading. You'd be amazed how much you can learn by reading. Just do your best to enjoy the story too. Sometimes I spend too much time studying the authors craft, I forget about the awesome story! For More Wisdom: #WWOW or Writers Word of Wisdom - A Smart & Savvy Group of Authors who write a weekly feature for their blog -Writer's Words of Wisdom- each Wednesday. The goal is to impart what we've learned about writing, editing, getting published, book promotion, and more along the way.
