Easter

What a glorious holiday! Four days off at the end of March. It couldn't have come at a better time. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to make it anywhere to see family, but relaxing at home was long overdue. I am now officially in favour of monthly four-day weekends. :p

To finish off Easter, I decided to cave and FINALLY watch Game of Thrones. The roommates and I watched Season One on Sunday and Season Two on Monday. It was a gruelling marathon, especially because it's such a gruelling series. In the end, I'm left ambivalent. On the one hand, I'm curious to see how all the intrigue turns out, but on the other, it's just so visceral and depressing. I can't imagine anyone in that world having any hope at all. There just never seems to be happiness for anyone, and I have difficulty committing myself emotionally when everything is always darkness and despair.

It's also interesting to me, since I have real trouble finding a protagonist I can root for. So far, it's between Tyrion Lannister (who seems to be the only one in that entire world with any sense of humour at all); Jon Snow (who seems to be the only one in that entire world with any sense of empathy at all); and Arya Stark (who shares my death list :p).
