Book Update

Hey all

Hope you're all doing well? I've been writing and teaching and trying to organise a huge move from Japan to South Africa. Busy busy busy.

That doesn't mean that I've been neglecting Book 2 though. I'm working on the epilogue at the moment. So it's going pretty well.

So about release dates - I've agreed to a three book deal with Montlake Romance. The first of those three books being The Unwanted Wife. This means that a professionally edited version of TUW will be republished in e-book format and in print later this year. Book 2 will follow a couple of months later and Book 3 will follow in 2014.

I'm pretty excited about this deal because I'm keen on having the books in print (my family will be particularly happy since none of them have Kindles). I hope you guys will be as excited about this news as I am :)

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

As always, I thank you for your patience and support.

Cheers

Natasha

cjbt57 who are books 2 & 3 about?

message 2: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Hi C

Book 2 will be about a character who made a brief appearance in TUW - Bryce Palmer (Rick's brother) and Book 3 will be about Sandro's buddy, Gabriel Braddock.

Beeg Panda Lovely stuff! Can't wait for the next books. And Bryce!
And lovely stuff that you're coming home to SA. Is your feathered baby coming with?

message 9: by Natasha (last edited Mar 24, 2013 12:56AM) (new)

Natasha Anders Hey there Panda

Great to hear from you again.

I am most definitely taking my baby home with me. But, man, it's so difficult arranging the relocation of a pet budgie. You'd think it would be easier than this, since he's just this tiny little scrap of cheerfulness. But nope. Sending a great dane home would be easier. It's keeping me quite stressed out but I'm determined to bring him home. I can't imagine leaving him here. He'll have to be in quarantine for a month though, poor little angel.

Thanks for asking :D

Cheers

N

message 10: by Beeg (new)

Beeg Panda A month? That's so long. Where would they keep him? Shame, I can understand your worry.

You know those djembe drums that are made here? Tourists love them and I recall years ago how my brother, when he left for Aussie, had to leave his djembe at customs for a month as well. He was NOT impressed.

message 11: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Yeah, I imagine he had difficulty because of the rawhide drumhead. Aussie customs are notoriously tough on animal products and food (my poor old gran was detained for hours at customs in Australia for accidentally bringing a bread roll off the plane. WHY she even put the roll in her bag in the first place is a mystery to me... ou mense).

According to the pet relocation company I'm using, the best airline for this is Lufthansa, which doesn't fly into Cape Town (aaaaaargh!!!). So Oliver will probably be in quarantine in Johannesburg and after the month is up will have be put onto another flight to get from Jhb to Cpt. I really wanted to get the traumatic flying bit over in one go. Travelling from Japan to Cape Town is a headache and a half, man. He's going to be a nervous wreck when he gets home :( I'm hoping the quarantine centre is calm and peaceful. I hope he can still talk when I get him back. He's got a pretty good vocabulary, I would hate for him to lose that.

message 12: by Ing (new)

Ing Whoo-hoo this is great news. Congrats on the book deal. Can't wait for book 2 and 3. Especially book 3 since Braddock captured my interest in TUW. Will we need to repurchase the updated edited version of TUW when it gets published? Will there be major changes to the storyline or is it just grammatical updates?

message 13: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Hi Ing

Thanks for the congratulations :)

I don't know yet what Montlake's selling strategy will be. I hope that you would simply be able to update it but I fear that that may not be the case. There will be no major changes made to the storyline, just grammatical updates. I don't want to change the story, I'm quite happy with it as is. So if you're happy with your current edition you won't be missing out on major changes but if you want a paperback copy that will be available for sale as well (yay).

Glad you're excited about Gabe's story. I'm pretty excited about it too. I have big plans for poor Gabe (mwuhahahahaha).

message 14: by Ing (new)

Ing Ok not liking the sound of that laughter of yours. I'm feeling bad for Gabe already. LOL! Can't wait. I so want his story now.

Awesome about TUW. I'm happy with my copy so I'm good. Thanks for the update.

message 15: by Somi (new)

Somi Congrats on the book deal. I'm so happy for you. I really enjoyed TUW, it's is one of the best romances I read last year. I can hardly wait for the others.

All the best.

message 16: by TamElaine (new)

TamElaine Do you have a date when TUW will be released in Canada? It look like a fabulous read !

message 17: by Savanna0123 (new)

Savanna0123 I adored this book! In two and three will we see more of Theresa and Alessandro?

message 18: by Leslie (new)

Leslie I am so happy that we will be getting more from you. I have been stalking your page hoping for updates!! I absolutely LOVED The Unwanted Wife and reread parts of it as least every couple of weeks. I hope we will see a little more of Sandro and Theresa in the next books! Good luck on your move!!

message 19: by Natasha (last edited Apr 02, 2013 08:45PM) (new)

Natasha Anders Hi there

Thanks for the interest in Book 2 (which I've provisionally named A Husband's Regret - that may change though).

To answer some of your questions - Tam, I'm not sure when it will be released in Canada. Can't you get it on Kindle?

Savanna - I think I've already replied to your message but for the sake of others who may be interested in the answer, T and A aren't heavily featured in book 2. You'll see more of them in the third book because Gabe and Sandro are such good friends.

Somi and Leslie - I'm very happy that you enjoyed The Unwanted Wife. I hope you'll enjoy AHR too.

message 20: by Johanna (new)

Johanna Cheers Luv. Congrats on the book deal. I am overjoyed for you and hope you are enjoying every moment. Any big birthday plans? :)

message 21: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Lmao!!! "Luv"? Are you channeling Ros? I've been meaning to email you FOREVER! Lots to talk about. Miss you so much. It's gonna be my last 30th birthday in Japan! Planning the usual dinner, drinks, epic karaoke combo! Next year's 30th will be in Cape Town! Now that I'm fiiiiinally heading home, can I count on a visit from you?

Hugs

N

message 22: by Johanna (new)

Johanna Of course! I will start saving up a "Sith Ifrican" fund today, though I am in serious denial that you are leaving Japan (I am also a bit bummed I never got to revisit and do all the usuals in Niigata again with you) It will be the end of an era. *tear*

Have an Umeshu (or Chu-hi) on your birthday and know I am there in spirit with you. Even better, sing Barbie Girl during karaoke and know I am there in heart. ;)

message 23: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Awww!! Let's Skype soon and discuss our future plans for a reunion.

Umeshu, Barbie Girl, on the list - just for you.

Will send you a proper email later.

Love

N

message 24: by Natalia (new)

Natalia Rodriguez I just want to say that I loved the TUW very much!! When are we getting your second book? Do you have a specific date?

message 25: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Hi Natalia

I'm happy that you enjoyed the book :) Unfortunately, I have no news on a release date for A Husband's Regret yet. It has been completed but I'm waiting to hear from my publisher regarding dates. I'm hoping it won't be too much longer. I hope you'll remain patient a little longer.

In the meantime, I love answering questions and chatting with people, so please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments :)

Have a wonderful day.

Natasha

message 26: by Beeg (new)

Beeg Panda Heya Natasha

You home yet? Your baby safe and sound here too?

Hope you're well:)

message 27: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Anders Nooooo... I'm only moving in July (just booked my flight like 30 seconds ago). I'll leave on the 29th (arrive on the 30th). Oliver leaves on the 10th of July. He'll be out of quarantine and at home on the 10th of August :D

It's been an annoyingly stressful time. Packing, dealing with red tape regarding Oliver's move and work on top of that. I can't wait to just get home and take a breather (although once I'm there, I'll be living with the fam in a small house in Mitchell's Plain until I find my own place - which brings its own special brand of stress :P ).

Sorry about the complaints. I'll bet you're sorry you asked, huh?!

Hope you're having a lovely day.

Cheers

Natasha

PS. I'm still waiting for the publisher to let me know about dates re: A Husband's Regret. Aaaarrrrghhhhhh!

message 28: by Beeg (new)

Beeg Panda LOL - No ways - I don't mind the complaints at all- real life is harsh - and if you cant let off a leeetle bit of steam here on GR...............*giggle*

Poor Oliver - but if you're assured that he will be taken care of then its a some stress less to deal with, right?

Talk about red tape - bane of our lives - did you know there's a red tape elimination campaign going on here in SA? I kid you not.

So many changes since you were last here (8 yrs ago IIRC): good changes and of course the "usual".... lol

Ms De Lille herself hit the papers and radio talk shows EARLY this morning - ohh the wonderful drama that awaits you....

YAY _ Just seeing that title of your next book: A Husband's Regret, brings it so much closer to being a reality for us readers. Cant wait cant wait.

Hope you settle in nicely here - I'm sure you wont have problems finding your own place quickly - there's so many on offer - just depends on the area, I suppose.

When you next check in here, send a quick note on how your mum is doing now?

Otherwise go well, get here safely!

message 29: by Jennifer (new)

So things should start moving along quickly now. I'm pretty excited about the progress we're making and I thank you and everybody else for your patience.
