Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar
Hi
I am the author of the book "Men and Dreams in the Dhauuladhar. The book is published with Amazon KDP
http://www.amazon.com/Men-Dreams-Dhau...
Newlywed Indumati is sent to Helsinki for higher studies, where she slips into a life of promiscuity and is being deported back. Saved by her professor she comes back repenting, believing her sins caused death of her husband. Her son Nanda is the protagonist. Shielded from family feuds, he gets caught up in a murder while defending friends. A man standing for family; he is hiding from law; working in a hydroelectric project far away in the Himalayan Dhauladhar ranges.
Shahazada was abandoned by his parents in Kashmir. Lured into a terrorist training camp, he is sent to live among shepherds. He enters Kashmir as a terrorist guide and ends up killing two of them for raping a Kashmiri girl.
Rekha is a third generation doctor whose family suffered extensively during partition. A performing artist; she is trying to walk away from an arranged marriage. Kidnapped on a pilgrimage to Kashmir, she meets Shahazada. A passionate relationship develops; they elope to Dhauladhar.
Manguram epitomises villagers and their dilemma in times of changes.
Story unfolds as the project develops and people from all walks of life come together; each one with a dream. Sinister plots of terrorists lurk in the back ground. Nanda must live with their struggles and triumphs as he comes to terms with his personal loss. Like an eternal spectator the Dhauladhar watches as men risk life and limb in their quest.
