Things that make me happy...

Does anyone remember that book?  It was right at the cutting edge of the new age, shiny-happy-people-holding-hands part of the nineties (which went very oddly with the grunge... don't ask me to explain... I listened to R.E.M. and Pearl Jam and rode out the contradictory wave with hardly a batted eyelash...)

Anyway-- the book was called 10,001 Things That Make Me Happy-- and it was, in truth, a list, and sort of a way to count your blessings, and was, I'm starting to think, the grandmother of the blog MeMe.  So, I was finishing stuff up today, and nursing my UTI (dudes... don't ask... not the first time I've ever worked myself sick, but not the most dignified either!) when it occurred to me that A. It was time to blog, and B. I was oddly enough, out of words.

I needed to take a cue from Knittech and write a 1000 word post (you know, a picture is worth a thousand words?) but I had to get CLEVER because all of my pictures SUCKETH, and, well, I had some sort of residual horror memory of that book and R.E.M. singing "Shiny happy people holding hands!" and a bad Cipro reaction, and, well, here we are.

BevS Yay, lots and lots of things on here I liked, especially the last Promise Rock book (Deacon), the new book with Aleks and the pics of Batman and the Avengers. Are you still getting Sherlock Amy or are you DVD'ing?? I wish it was still on over here, but flat chance with the Hobbit taking up everyone's time....and what about mentioning Alice In Chains...surely you must have liked them as well as PJ??

Amy Lane Wow! Lessee-- I Netflixed Sherlock (so I can watch it again!), I'm THRILLED the last Promise book is done, and Alice in Chains wasn't my thing until a little later! (I am usually about 5 years behind in my music... I think The Killers and Coldplay were two of my only exceptions, where I liked them from their first track of their first album, the day it was played on the radio:-)

BevS Ditto the Killers and especially Coldplay, amazing live.... I love them.

I'm thrilled that the last Promise Book is done, and it had better be a HEA, I couldn't bear it if something else upset my two guys, Tom Webb kept telling me that it was nearly finished, but I didn't believe him... just goes to show what I know!! Thanks for the chat Amy...I'll let you get on with whatever else you're doing...don't s'pose there'll be another book for Jace and Quent will there?? I'd love to know how those two are getting on. Hugs and kisses. x

Amy Lane You're welcome for the chat, I'll be toddling off in a sec-- but I thought I'd give a (teeny) spoiler for the last book. Everybody's in it. I mean EVERYBODY has a chapter. Shane, Mikhail, Jeff, Collin, Benny, Jon-- and, of course, Deacon and Crick. But everyone. EVERYONE. The whole WORLD (or, well, almost) gets their HEA in this one. Trust me. Gonna be epic...

Katyna I LOVE driving up to a car at a stoplight and looking over and seeing someone singing and dancing like crazy. I especially like it when I catch their eye and they look all embarrassed and then I start singing and dancing with them. I could be having the most craptastic day ever and when this happens, I'm okay. It's like seeing one awesomely happy person can reset the world.
