
Wal-Mart will no longer be carrying Amazon’s popular Kindle e-reading and tablet devices. Wal-Mart said it was a move consistent with its merchandising strategy, but I think there’s a lot more to it.
Wal-Mart doesn’t want to sell Kindles — especially the Kindle Fire tablets — because doing so will help Amazon.com build its overall retail business, which is in direct competition with Wal-Mart, especially its growing e-commerce operation.
