I want to thank you so much for setting the standard so high for YA fantasy. Siege and Storm is a masterpiece of a fantasy and I think you are such an amazing writer and I'm kind of DYING to read S&S. (this post summed up, I appreciate existence). :)

Thanks for the kind words! I have to say, I think authors like Tamora Pierce, Diana Wynne Jones, Susan Cooper, Sherwood Smith, Anne McCaffrey, Megan Whalen Turner, Jacqueline Carey, Robin McKinley (and many others) set the real standard. I’m happy to trail after them like that terrier who wants to be friends with the bulldog. I’m fairly sure he wears a bowler hat.
