Nice post, David. I combated my fear of rejection by starting up my own publishing company. (Okay, my having been a graphic designer for a number of years, and wanting control of the way the book looked might have had something to do with it too.) That said, I not only faced my "fears" by taking control of the situation, I put myself in a position where I am able to help other authors publish their books too. That is a good place to be.

I enjoyed your Pirates of Sufiro too - some very interesting characters and you can tell that they have pasts that the reader isn't privy too in detail, but exist and influence the present character's decisions and actions.
