Arcs

The minister at my church speaks of the arc of the sermon - the journey from beginning to end. I have heard the same concept applied to literature. The quote from Alan Watts about music on my page speaks to the same idea. The end of the journey, song, sermon, story, is not the point. The movement through, all the things you can see and hear and experience - that's the point.

The small boy in the Mountain Climber understood that.
