Class starts on Monday!

I just received confirmation that my creative writing class at the middle school is a go. I am so relieved, yet really nervous. Teaching a class about something that I love to do should be a breeze, right? Well, that all depends on my students. They need to want to be there. They need to feel that energy like I do when a story starts to develop. They don't need to give me a hard time in the classroom because I might not know what to do. (Maybe I shouldn't confess to that!) I could "go all mom on them," but I'm not sure that's the correct approach. It's all I got though so that's what I'll have to go with. I'm sure my husband can teach me his classroom management techniques, but he and I are so different that I don't think I could pull it off. I also don't want to squelch the kids' creativity with a bunch of rules. Rules are good, but they get old. Let's all just have fun! We'll see if my philosophy changes after Monday!
