Hump Day Hook: Bar Service

For my first Hump Day Hook I’m posting a paragraph from my newly released short story Bar Service.

When her boss went out for a smoke, Mimi craned her head towards me. “Say yes to everything she asks,” she whispered, “and you’ll have the time of your life.”

My mouth went a little dry and there was that itch between my legs again. I wasn’t naturally submissive, but for a woman like Veronica I’d gladly make an exception.

The clinking of heels on the wooden floor announced Veronica’s return. She chose the stool right next to me and pivoted towards me.

“We could sit here and make conversation, but I’m not much of a talker.”

I was enthralled by the glossy redness of her lips. I wondered what they would taste like and speculated if she would let me chew them—probably not.
