GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE FROM THE NEW PLAYSTATION 4 CONSOLE FEATURING KILLZONE 4 [KILLZONE: SHADOW FALL]

Yesterday at a conference in New York, Sony execs unveiled gameplay footage from the forthcoming PlayStation 4 system [without showing off an actual PS4 console for the fans to behold]. Anyway, the new PS4 console is slated to be released some time in 2013 [later this year, perhaps close to some holiday period in the fourth quarter]. Over the years, Sony has been known for dependability, in terms of their consoles dating back to the PS1 days.
At the conference, there were a lot of visual teasers, including the presentation of tech previews that featured Unreal Engine 4 [the latest Game Engine designed by Epic Games, which should be utilized in the creation of games for the forthcoming Xbox 720 and PS4 consoles] - BTW, Unreal Engine 3 produced the Gears of War games, the Transformers games and the Borderlands games. Also, there were a few actual games that were displayed for fans to behold at the conference in NY. And one such game was Killzone 4 [Tagged as Killzone: Shadow fall]. This new sci fi game is placed in a futuristic setting and it is a First Person Shooter that seems to have an appeal for newbies and old gamers alike. Personally I prefer Third Person Shooters to the FPS games, for my own personal reasons. Nevertheless, some FPS games are still very entertaining. Check out the latest footage below:
Looks pretty damn good, right? I enjoyed seeing the graphics for the futuristic city setting - wish they'd shown more of it. Thing is, the clip leaves you wanting to see more. This Killzone 4 gameplay teaser almost reminds me of the futuristic gameplay previews that were shown for Call of Duty: Black-Ops 2, about 9 months before the actual game arrived in November 2012 last year. And then fans found out that the exciting preview clips of that COD:BO2 game was linked to the ending, not even the beginning of the game... it was as if the game designers at Treyarch Studios showed the best stuff up front... and the rest of the COD:BO2 game was.... rather exciting, but not as exciting as the preview footage.
Let's hope that the designers at Guerilla Games [the guys behind Killzone 4] will wisely "save the best for last", so that fans won't feel slightly let down when they play the actual game.

Anyway, here are some spec details for the forthcoming PS4: Slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2013, The PlayStation 4 is powered by an x86 processor with eight CPU cores,
an enhanced GPU and 8GB of memory. It will also ship with Sony’s new
“DualShock 4″ controllers, which are similar to the current-generation
controllers with the addition of a touchpad, a stereo camera for 3D
position tracking, a share button that allows users to stream live
gaming to their friends’ consoles, and other new features.
Among the exciting features covered during the unveiling is a new
sleep function that keeps the PS4 on in a low-power state when not in
use, completely eliminating the hassle of waiting for the console to
boot up. The new PlayStation will also be able to download new games
like most consoles can, but gamers will be able to begin playing them
immediately following a purchase while the bulk of a game file continues
downloading.
Sony will introduce a new technology with the PS4 that allows users
to take control of friends’ controllers over the online network, to help them
when they’re stuck in a game — so basically your buddies will be able to hack into your ongoing game and blow sh*t up, with your permission of course.
