hi leigh! i'm reading shadow and bone again and i wanted to ask if Mal already had feelings for Alina at the beginning of the novel aka their military days?

(Can I just say how awesome it is when people tell me they’re rereading?)

Okay, so… don’t be vexed with me, but this is the kind of question I’m not sure I should answer. We see the story from Alina’s POV for a reason, and her doubt and her attempts to puzzle things out are a part of that.

I will say that—regardless of his feelings—there’s no question that Mal takes Alina for granted at the beginning of the story. She’s always been there for him and he assumes she always will be.

Aaaand there will be some bonus content in the paperback that may be of interest :) I’m not sure I’m allowed to announce yet, but hopefully soon!
