I am being allowed the opportunity to have a book signing at one of the local libraries on April 6th. They will be setting me up in a media room where I will be able to show my book trailer. They would like for me to present a short talk also. I am creating a handout with my photo, the book cover to "Treasure of the Anasazi," and a list of a few historical facts related to the story and the book's setting at Mesa Verde.
Just for instance, did you know that women Rangers weren't allowed to go through law enforcement training until 1971? And it wasn't until 1978 until women were given the right to wear a "man's" uniform, badge, and the "Smokey Bear" hat? Before that it was more of a stewardess uniform.
This is just one of the things Samantha is up against in this 1953 story and why she feels she has to prove herself after her boss and friend, Ranger Emitt Barnes, is shot.
I am not a public speaker. I break out in a sweat just thinking about it, but it needs to be done. Hopefully, I will improve with time.
