This is great news! Looking forward to it. As soon as I read that book I was hoping for a movie. Can't wait!

I am cautiously optimistic. I love Cell it's one of my favorites, I've always thought it would translate well to the big screen... not quite sold on Cusack as the lead though. I'm open-minded but I don't quite see him as Clay. Also curious about the ending, I mean it kinda just leaves you hanging, I wasn't thrilled about it in the book and I doubt the masses will be thrilled in the theaters.
That's funny, cause I hated the ending too and everyone I've talked to hated the ending. Here's hoping the movie's ending is better.
Ditto, like I said I have hope. I am a die hard fan and I've stuck with SK through successes (Carrie, Misery, Delores Claiborne, The Mist) and some MAJOR suckass bombs (Graveyard Shift and Riding the Bullet.) This has the potential to be amazing so I will sit back, cross my digits and appendages while I hope for the best.Oh and Desperation.... did I mention how much I HATE the made for TV version of Desperation? Can't forget that.....HATE. I refuse to believe they will fail me on 2 of my favorite books.
Finally! I've been waiting to hear about this since I read Cell. One of my all-time favorite books. The ending was okay for me. Not that I expected rainbows and sunshine, but I was kind of hoping for at least a reunion... But I still love SK and have been reading his books since I can remember. Yay for the movie!! ^.*
Looking forward to it. I just finished rereading it and like every Stephen King book each time you read it the book reveals more and becomes a different experience. And it is true I am always reserved when seeing the movie version as one let's you live the experience of the book in your imagination while the other you look at the book through someone else's imagination. Read Cell again and you see a whole new book, even a different ending. Expect nothing as you read, let it all become a new experience.

I liked Riding The Bullet, but totally get what you're saying. Also I heard that Eyes of the Dragon is going to be made into a SyFy movie and I'm not too happy about that. They make some horrible movies and I love that book too much to have it ruined, so I'm up in the air about it.
I agree, I've always felt our mind's creativeness and imagination lend much more reality to a book then what can shown on a screen. That being said I occasionally like to see what or how other's see as versus what I see. Quite often when I reread a book I will come away with a whole new idea that I had previously missed. I am currently rereading the entire Tower series.
Just started reading this one again and now I'm not so sure about this movie. I could never put my finger on what was so wrong about some of the flops but sitting here it hit me >WHAM< it's the inner monologue. Some of the best parts of the first few chapters are all inside Clay's head! There is no way to translate that to the big screen without some serious Velveeta cheesage. I could be wrong but.......

It'll just play out faster than it does in the book. As long as they can do the ending right, I'll be okay with it. I think they can handle the monologues.
Loved this book, just hoping the movie version doesn't tank like some of them have in the past (e.g., The Langoliers). Wonder if they'll preserve the ending as it played out in the book, or change it like they did in The Mist?
Well, that's good news! I'd read somewhere -probably on Wikipedia- that they were planning to release a film adaptation of the novel, and I'm looking forward to actually see the end product!
I have read most of Mr. King's work and always find it enjoyable. I will agree that some of the movies that have been made are flops but then there are others that stick with you for a lifetime. I saw "stand by me" when i was a child and it has played right through with events and feelings You experience growing up.
I actually loved this book, I picked it up while traveling when it first came out, made that whole trip 100 times better.
Cell is an awesome book... not really happy about Cusack, don't like him that much and I find him pretty inexpressive.Let's hope for a decent tv version

I loved this book, but the ending still makes me mad, and I read the book back when it was released. I'm really hoping they explain what the hell happened.
The is the book that convinced me I'd never read another Stephen King book, and I loved his previous works! In this one it seemed he revived all his previous nemesis: the man in black, although not so-named, running, the Black House. Wonder if you have the same opinion.
