100 Word Writing Challenge

I found an ad on Facebook for a writing challenge and the challenge was for a 100 word short story. I didn’t think it could be done, especially for my love of writing (I find it hard to write a story in under 1000 words let alone 100) but an author friend of mine, Beth Williams, told me she had no problem with it and that it was quite fun. So I decided to try it out myself and actually found it to be fun. Here’s my 100 Word Story (clocked in at 98 words).

Times were tough enough without having to deal with intruders. The man lay on the floor in a pool of his own blood, brought on by Bard’s claw hammer. Bard picked the body up off the floor and placed it on his table. The table hadn’t seen much food in recent weeks but tonight things would be different. Now that the unexpected guest had been taken care of, Bard got to work cutting up his dinner. After all, there was only one way to rid the place of this intruder and fill his stomach at the same time.
