If you've read my bio, you'll know that my idea for 'Descendant' came from an extraordinary vision during Christmas mass. Writing this novel was as easy as a child writing his school heading on a homework assignment. It flowed and poured out of me like someone or something had whispered the story to me, night after long night.Yet, book two did not flow as easily. I had writer's block {several times} I might add.
One day, through FB, an old friend, whom I haven't seen or spoken to since high school contacted me. We began filling in the small and big details of our adult lives. Recently, my friend Nina, who hosts a paranormal enthusiasts radio show @NINAConRadio
www.tmvcafe.com, insisted we get together for lunch. We finally did! And boy did she have LOTS to say! My excitement elevated two-fold!
During our luncheon, I found out that my beautiful friend Nina was clairvoyant, clairsentient and extremely claircognitive. She expressed her sentiments about my first novel and how it mysteriously transported her into Beth's character. Loving the book and its premise, Beth's life was eerily similar to hers.
The next day, while at work, my text messages were lighting up like mad. Nina insisted I call her the second I left work. I did with urgency. I felt something epic was about to happen.
I called her the minute I stepped into my home, regardless of the mayhem of homework and test papers being shoved into my chest by my kids. Her first words were, "Oh my goodness, grab a pad and paper and brace yourself." Immediately, chills raced up my spine. This was going to be good!
What happened for the next 40 minutes, I dare not tell, but boy oh boy, is book two going to be a treat!
After all the notes based on Nina's visions, I sat for a long time soaking in these visions, feeling astounded and extremely eager to research some of the places and names that my friend's visions urged her to share with me. She was told that her 'spirits' INSISTED my second book be rewritten and relocated, for book two was heading in the wrong direction.
So, I sat down and began to make my rewrites. Several days later, I stared at my original title 'Soulless' only to realize, it no longer fit. I asked Nina if her 'spirits' gave her a title and she reminded me that her sources are not concerned with a title, only the message. Yikes!
Late that evening, a co-worker, whom I shared this experience with, texts the words "Conception". My reply was "Huh?" until it dawned on me in my sleepy state, what she was referring to. At that moment, I text Nina, who was, at that same moment, texting me the words "The Conception". And that is all I will say for now...
I was a skeptic. I never believed...but now I do.
"I had no choice but to accept these voices and images as my gift. My ability. Their energy engrossed my music. I played passionately for them. To set them free. They were part of my life now. I didn't chose them, they chose me."...Elizabeth (DESCENDANT– chapter 2)
