Richard again, of course!

I am delighted that Richard is getting the sort of attention in the British media that is usually reserved for Will and Kate. And to my surprise, Richard is making a splash in the American media, too, even the New York Times. I confess, though, that every time a story has been promoted about the “king in the car park,” I hold my breath, waiting for them to say something stupid. And they often do. But my local newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer, ran a story today on the front page that will not cause Yorkists to shudder. To the contrary, it might have Tudor fans (there are such people, right?) gnashing their teeth. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/hom...

PS.For my British readers, Sunne is still available for download on Amazon.com.UK at the bargain price of 74 pence. I don't know how long it will last, though.

Trish Sharon, The Wall Street Journal also reported of Richard. For anyone interested in reading more, I've posted links to Richard III Society and the WSJ articles. I love the fact that 15th century history is being "amended" in our time....and pulled my Sunne off the shelf for a repeat read. As I look at his "reconstructed" likeness, I'm seeing the slight satisfied smile suggesting, "take that, you prigs!"

Jessica P My coworkers and I (we're historians, albeit the focus on the American Revolution) have been geeking out about Richard III. Even the elections haven't sparked this much discussion or excitement!

Monique Richard has always been one of my favorite Yorks, I'm happy to see he's been redeemed from the image set forth by the Tudors and Shakespeare!

As an Englishwoman - who has been "for" Richard for more years than I can remember - I am delighted that at last his remains have been found. Thank you for providing the Wall Street Journal links - two interesting articles.

RJay It's amazing. No hunchback but severe scoliosis (sideways) which wouldn't have been obvious under clothing. Imagine what discipline he must have had to overcome this disability to become the incredible warrior and battle commander he became! And only 5' 8" tall - not exactly like his reach was beyond that of his battle enemies! Now Edward, at 6' would have had that advantage. Not our Richard - he rocked anyway!
