On Being A Professional Writer No. 7: Connections

Stay with me on this one: I’m out to prove a point.


In the comments section of the last post on sounds, TangoDancer asks if anyone still whistles tunes. I’m an inveterate whistler, and always have been, which makes me think it’s a hereditary thing; my father whistled constantly. Hardly anyone does now.

Cori North Connections! _Loved_ that series as a youngster, and it may have influenced my aims as an art scholar (American and Japanese prints...yeah, both...Connections!)But, what I really stopped in to say was I used to whistle tunes constantly, at school, home, and even in my sleep (sister and best friend pronounced it "creepy" even when they recognized the melodies....)But, somewhere along the way in adulthood, I seem to have lost the knack/inclination to whistle. Wonder why? It's hard to think it a class thing, here in mid-America...
